Jason McCandless
Senior Project Manager

Professional Journey
Over nearly two decades in construction and development, Jason has built a broad and nuanced understanding of how successful projects come together. His experience spans hospitality, healthcare, office interiors, ground-up construction, and specialty builds—each requiring a balance of technical rigor and relationship management. Before joining Elmhurst, he spent nine years at Massaro Corporation, where he managed urban high-rise hotels, school developments, medical renovations, and large-scale public infrastructure projects.
Since joining Elmhurst in 2016, Jason has become a central force in shaping some of the firm’s most impactful development work. As Senior Project Manager, he leads teams through budgeting, scoping, contractor selection, design coordination, and construction—often stewarding projects from the first RFP response to tenant move-in. His portfolio includes the Allegheny County Public Health Laboratory renovation, the Elmhurst Innovation Center Phase 1 development, multi-phased office renovations, and multiple tilt-up and flex-space additions that support the firm’s growing innovation ecosystem.
Jason is known for treating every pursuit like a competition—one where preparation, precision, and teamwork create an advantage. He brings a problem-solver’s instinct to every assignment, embracing the truth that no two projects are ever the same. His work strengthens tenant relationships, advances Elmhurst’s development pipeline, and reinforces the firm’s reputation for delivering complex projects on time, on budget, and with exceptional care.
“Every project is a challenge to solve—and I love finding the path to a win.”
