Maria Sinclair
Chief Financial Officer

Professional Journey
Maria began her career with KPMG in the Pittsburgh office, gaining early experience in the same city where she now supports Elmhurst’s growing portfolio. The early years in public accounting grounded her in precision, compliance, and analytical clarity, establishing a technical expertise that would serve as the bedrock for her long-term leadership.
She joined Elmhurst nearly 34 years ago as Assistant Controller, quickly advancing to Controller and ultimately to Chief Financial Officer. Across each role, Maria has been instrumental in building and refining the systems, reporting structures, and financial strategies that allow Elmhurst to invest with confidence and take on increasingly complex projects. Her ability to translate nuance, risk, and opportunity across stakeholders has strengthened lender relationships regionally and nationally.
Over the decades, Maria’s influence has shaped Elmhurst’s identity as much as its balance sheet. She has stewarded the company through market cycles, originated financing for major developments, and ensured that each project—no matter how new or challenging—aligns with Elmhurst’s long-term values: discipline, integrity, and enduring impact. Her leadership continues to guide the organization as it grows, evolves, and serves the region in meaningful ways.
“I believe every detail matters — especially when a project is charting new territory.”
Character Shaping Contribution
Each Elmhurst team member brings a distinct sense of purpose — shaped by interests, values, and perspectives that extend beyond the office. These glimpses into life outside work reveal the same qualities that define Elmhurst’s culture of care, discipline, and long-term vision.
