Facility Operations and Tenant Relations
As Regional Facilities Manager, Michael brings more than two decades of hands-on building expertise to some of Elmhurst’s most operationally complex properties. He combines deep technical knowledge with a calm, steady presence—coordinating people, systems, and vendors so tenants experience seamless day-to-day operations. Whether he is walking a mechanical room, reviewing a preventive maintenance plan, or mentoring a site engineer, Michael is always looking three steps ahead. His work helps ensure Elmhurst’s assets perform reliably over the long term, protecting both tenant confidence and investor value.

Professional Journey

Michael’s career began on the tools, working in building maintenance and engineering roles where he learned commercial systems from the inside out—HVAC, electrical, life-safety, and everything in between. Those early years taught him the importance of doing work right the first time, communicating clearly with tenants, and treating every service call as an opportunity to build trust. Over time, he became the person teams called when a complex issue needed a steady, technically minded problem-solver.

As his responsibilities grew, Michael moved into facility management roles overseeing multi-building portfolios across office, industrial, and special-use properties. He led vendor selection and contract negotiations, implemented preventive maintenance programs, and managed operating and capital budgets with a focus on long-term asset health. From coordinating after-hours system upgrades to leading emergency response planning, he developed a reputation for being both detail-oriented and unflappable under pressure.

At Elmhurst, Michael serves as a regional hub for facilities operations—supporting site managers, standardizing best practices, and ensuring that building systems across key properties perform to institutional standards. He works closely with property management, development, and accounting teams to align day-to-day decisions with each asset’s long-term plan. For tenants, that means reliable environments where they can focus on their work; for investors and partners, it means disciplined operations that protect value across cycles.

“Tenants shouldn’t have to think about the building. If we’ve done our job, everything just works.”
